Katara Hospitality continues its growth in F&B landscape

Katara Hospitality, a leading global hotel owner, developer and operator based in Qatar, has announced the opening of Jamavar Doha at Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel, an Indian fine-dining experience that pays homage to the royal cuisines of palatial India.

Jamavar, the highly anticipated restaurant co-founded by Samyukta Nair and her father Dinesh, which began at The Leela Palaces, Hotels & Resorts in India, is officially here in Doha. "After conquering the luxury dining scene in the Indian subcontinent, Jamavar Doha is the second international outpost to the critically acclaimed brand after its exceptional success in Mayfair London in 2016 where it received a celebrated Michelin star within the first year of its opening," Katara Hospitality said in a press statement.

Jamavar Doha is the seventh restaurant within the family. Famed for its unique approach to Indian cuisine from across the subcontinent, Jamavar gives food connoisseurs the opportunity to immerse in its authentic recipes. From elegant décor and fine details to the diverse offering, diners can "perfectly indulge in lunch and dinner experiences that are second to none", the statement notes.

Led by culinary director Surender Mohan, Jamavar Doha’s menu showcases dishes from both the royal kitchens of northern India and the coastal cuisine from the southern states, exploring pan-Indian flavours using a range of authentic cooking techniques and reflecting the essence of its siblings across India and London.

Katara Hospitality acting CEO Andrew Humphries said, “Qatar has become one of Middle East’s premier dining destinations and world-renowned brands can be found across the country. Having been at the forefront of the hospitality industry for over 50 years, Katara Hospitality continues its growth in the food and beverage (F&B) landscape. The company’s commitment to invest in the development of the hospitality and tourism industry through focusing on the F&B concept as key element to the success of this sector will be hugely popular among guests, appealing to all tastes.”

Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel general manager Belal al-Kadry said, “Jamavar Doha’s concept is rooted in simplicity and quality, with a strong emphasis on bespoke luxury. We wanted a concept that guests would only experience in our hotel in order to enhance the uniqueness of their stay or visit to Jamavar; we introduced a gem that will add to the guest’s experience where they can truly enjoy authentic Indian cuisine.”

Jamavar co-founder Samyukta Nair added, “We are thrilled to partner with Katara Hospitality and open doors to Jamavar at Sheraton Grand Doha. We look forward to bringing a unique and unparalleled Indian fine-dining experience for their patrons to enjoy”.
